With our 5th annual LimeLifePalooza literally only a mere 7 days away (anyone else SCREAMING inside reading that??) I thought it would be fun to hit you guys with some helpful tips just in case you’ve never been or need a crash course refresher π I’ve pulled things from a few different threads that you Beauty Guides have mentioned as things to either bring or tools to make your convention experience a breeze. Read on, Unicorns!
- You can actually have things from Walmart DELIVERED to the hotel- the closest one is in Aurora. The delivery fee is in between $7.95-$9.95 and it will help save you money if you don’t have a rental car! Thanks Angela Green!
- Put yourself out there- this is the best way to make friends and meet new people in LimeLife. If you see someone walking down the street who looks like a Beauty Guide, introduce yourself! Don’t let this moment pass you by, take every opportunity you can while we’re there.
- Things like selfie sticks and selfie lights really come in handy, especially if you want to take pictures with large groups of people- throw them in your bag before you head to the airport! Thanks Shannon Hope π
- The dress code for the convention is business professional, but PLEASE don’t let this stress you out. The main reason our CEOs put that in to place is so we represent LimeLife well. Wearing a nice top, jeans (not ripped) and cute shoes is totally acceptable- you don’t need to go out an buy a whole new wardrobe.
- Download apps like DoorDash that will deliver food to you; Breaks can get incredibly hectic to find somewhere to eat and get back fast for the next session. Restaurants nearby usually end up crowded, you can skip the lines and wait times by using this service!
- When signing up for your breakout sessions pick them based on what will serve you the most RIGHT NOW. Some will be labeled ‘executive’, but that doesn’t mean they will be training you how to GET to executive. If you find a session that speaks to you, choose those over the ones maybe a friend is going to. There will be tons of opportunities to make new friends everywhere you go π
- BRING A LIGHT SWEATER. This is key. Because of the high volume of people they will be blasting the AC, and it can be hard to pay attention when you’re freezing!
- Prepare to be at a high altitude! For those of you who don’t know, altitude sickness is a real thing and it can be torture if you don’t prepare. Stay hydrated with electrolytes, take it easy, eat carbs (YAY) and stay away from alcohol and caffeine. Read up and be prepared!
- Check with your team and see if your upline has scheduled a dinner one of the nights you’re there! This is an awesome way to get connected with your sideline sisters.
- Pack an extra battery for all cameras and find a portable charger for your phone that can keep you juiced up all day! Let’s be honest, the InstaStory game will be strong and we don’t need any dead phones!
- Make sure to have snacks and plenty of water for the workshops. It’s incredibly hard to concentrate when you’re hungry.
- Bring a pair of workout clothes just in case you want to attend one of the early morning workout sessions! It’ll also come in handy if you want to go on a hike and explore the Rockies with your fellow LimeLifers.
- One thing I never leave home without on travel days are these little earplugs you can get at the airport called EarPlanes. They’re specially designed to equalize the pressure in your ears ( ESPECIALLY if you are congested) so you aren’t in any pain. Seriously- I would pay big money to have these just in case!
Last but certainly not least, take in every single moment and don’t rush through this experience. It goes by SO FAST and we will be preparing for #LLP2020 before you know it. Don’t put so much pressure on yourself to look or be perfect- no one cares! Be yourself, that’s the best you π We can’t wait to see you there!
Thank you for the tips. I can hardly wait for the new information we will all gain ! I feel blessed to be a part of something so amazingly awesome β€οΈ
